I made it to Guatemala today, barely. First of all we didn't get to National until after 5 am, and my flight was at 6. Then I had some issues with my bags (had to check one that I tried to bring on the plane). But I got boarded.
I had 45 minutes between flights, so I was dashing through the Houston airport. I was glad I didn't have that bag because it would have slowed me down.
Got to Guate, bags made it, driver was there and then right to the hotel/apartment. It's OK -- looks like it was decorated in about 1987. But hey, it's on the same block as our lawyer's office (NOT across from the Embassy -- darn you Google maps!). But that's better because I know this part of town pretty well and all the good food is here.
Speaking of which, ate at Tacocontento (see photo of my pork tacos -- you can't see the guacamole -- oh yeah I ate it all!)
So a bit nervous about tomorrow. There is already a delay with L's new birth certificate. There was a typographical error which has been fixed. But the central records office only allows request to be submitted on Tuesday, so we have to wait another week.
But it's all OK. L will be with me starting tomorrow and that will be wonderful.
Please keep us in your prayers & thoughts. Just anxious about being a single mom!
xo
